Jill Waldbieser

Jill Waldbieser achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a magazine editor shortly before the collapse of the print publishing industry. She was the Food & Nutrition Director of Women’s Health magazine for a decade, where she began her love affair with food and cooking and got her start working in test kitchens. She went on to similar roles for The Food Network, Campbell Soup Company, and EverydayHealth.com. Throughout her career, she is proud to have written about weight loss in a context that doesn’t make women feel bad about themselves, and the most she personally ever lasted on a diet was half a day of juice fasting.  Currently, Jill generates and edits content about mental and physical health, wellness, fitness, nutrition, travel, and sex for a number of digital publications. She doesn’t put a lot of stock in industry awards, but considers it the highest honor that a profile she wrote for Runner’s World was picked up by Longreads In the last five years, she has been elected to public office, travelled the world, healed a broken heart, become a regular in the boxing ring, and installed her own toilet—and would be hard-pressed to say which of these is the greatest accomplishment. She considers aging a privilege, and looks forward to whatever adventures the next day and next decade bring. You can see what Jill’s cooking and eating on Instagram
